Behind The Lens...

Welcome to my blog, I am a fairly young photographer, and I grew up and still currently reside on a farm, and have a bit of studio set up in the house. I've known what I wanted to do ever since a introduction into the work force During the first part of high school where I choose to work at a professional studio, for a few days to see what it was all about as I already had an interest in Photography. Ever since those few days it hit me what I was going to pursue. I always had an excellent Compact Camera, but after working with the professionals, I decided to do some research on Slrs and Bought my First Nikon, Which I was so happy with (Since then my little Slr has been replaced a few times and I know use it as a "risky" situation camera).
I never Dreamt That I would be able to start this full time as soon as I did, it kind of all happened so fast I got asked to put a display up in the local library entered a few contests, and then suddenly I had a question about shooting a wedding, which I jumped at and said yes, right then and there is when it took off, People started to find out locally and I had a busy Fall season. From then I have been trying harder to get my name out, So far so good! :)
Today you will rarely... and I mean rarely see me without my camera in hand, Slung over my shoulder or just a few feet away in its bag. I Love to photograph people, In particular Children as you don't pose a child, it is much more fun to set something up and Photograph them being themselves, or seeing their reactions to new things, or simply just letting them play outside. I also Love to do Family sessions, As well as Engagements and Weddings.... Aside from portraits, I also enjoy shooting landscapes, I have a passion for abandoned yard sites, and local landscapes. As you will tend to see in my work, I like to combine my passion for abandoned places and portraits, with the theory that the longer the grass, the older the building... the better the Portraits will be. As you have probably guessed I prefer taking portraits outdoors I like the freedom. But since I live in Manitoba after all I do have a Studio set up in the basement, for our cold winters, and Newborns of course.

Thanks for visting my blog!

Jeff
